This initiative aims to raise public awareness about Zero Defect and Zero Effect (ZED) products through ZED certification workshops, encouraging MSMEs to adopt a quality-driven ecosystem. The goal is to improve manufacturing systems, enhance competitiveness, and transform MSMEs into National and International Champions. The ZED Scheme focuses on making MSMEs more sustainable and globally competitive, driving them towards self-reliance ("atmanirbhar").
From FY 2024-25 to FY 2027-28, the target is to organize 1,638 ZED workshops and certify 32,760 MSMEs in Uttar Pradesh, in partnership with the Quality Council of India (QCI).
The Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) certification scheme promotes excellence and competitiveness among MSMEs. However, there is a clear gap between the number of MSMEs in the state and those with ZED certification.
ZED certification improves MSME performance by encouraging best practices and ensuring zero defects in products and processes. It enhances product quality, boosts customer trust, and strengthens competitiveness in domestic and international markets, driving sustainable growth.
